Last night

Went to Killing Joke's gig in Kentish Town last night. Top gig - KJ on top form, and good crowd. Picked up an "offiical bootleg" from the band's Euro tour last year fully signed.

No ttms for Fri/Sat, but did find two copies of the same book signed for £1.49 each in local Works where they are having a clearance sale. There was a third signed copy but it had damage to page edges, so got left in shop. Pics still to be done.

You like your live music then Nigel, Awesome looking signed piece you picked up last night.

Glad you got out and had a blast!

Look forward to seeing what you picked up from The Works later.

Re: Last night

I do indeed like my live music. I have missed getting to gigs regularly more than anything over the last 12 to 13 years. Before that, from age 16 onwards I was getting to between 100 and 200 gigs each year.

Things have not really changed much on the home front, but with my own health improving through weight loss (have now lost 6 stone exactly as of today since last September), I decided this year was going to see me get to a few gigs for a change. I bought a t-shirt at the gig last night. It has been way too many years since I was small enough to buy a t-shirt that fits me. It felt so good to be able to do something normal like that. After last night, I am also booked to see The Rezillos and Spizz Energi together in April and Adam Ant in May.

Killing Joke have been a live constant throughout my life. I first saw them as a scrawny 16 year old at Hammy Palais about 30 years ago. Early in the gig I clashed heads with a massive mohican, and my white t-shirt was covered in clarat all night. He was more impressed that the head clash did not faze me more than anything as I was tiny compared to him, and bought me a beer. I remember people giving me a wide berth on the tube home that night. Have seen them many times since over the years - they are one of the greatest live bands on the planet.

Well done losing the weight too. It's never easy but you seem to be doing really well.

Re: Last night

Nice signed bootleg Nigel. Glad to hear you are still enjoying the gigs. I went to see the stone Roses last week in Melbourne. Nearly all the crowd were 'Poms'. Felt like I'd gone back in time.
