This one was a bit of a wild goose chase:)
I was helped out by a really good member on here with this one, cheers mate:)
I arrived at a Huuuuge house at about 10.30 and knocked on a massive oak door. Then i heard the door opening and there stood........... A Little Boy! "Oh, i said, "Is Mr McGuiness at home?" "No, he doesn't live here anymore" "Muuuuuum" He shouted, "There's a man at the door to see Mr McGuiness." Then a very very;) nice looking lady came to the door and said "Sorry but he moved from here about the beginning of the year" "Oh, do you know where he moved to?" "Yes, i have been forwarding his mail for a while, he now lives at >> >>>>>>>>>> >>>> " So i bid her goodbye and said thank you for her help:) I then set off again:)
Arriving at the address she gave me, i could see that there was some building work going on. I squeezed myself between a workmans van and the gatepost and walked up to an already open door. In the hallway there were dust sheets on the floor and running up the stairs. I Knocked.:) Then from a large room across from the front door came Mr Wilf McGuiness:) "Good morning Mr McGuiness" I said as i shook his hand. "Good morning to you too" He said. "Sorry to bother you Sir , but would you be kind enough to add your signature to my book and shirt for me?" "Of course i will, come in " With that, i followed Wilf into the room in which he had 1st appeared. The room was enormous, it had high cielings and very ornate coving and roses. I would say Victorian. Beautiful to say the least. He then sat down and i took out my book. He looked at it and said "Lets see now, which book is this?" I said"It's Photogrphic History of the Club" "Oh, am i in it?" He said laughing. "You are" I said, and showed him where. He then opened the book and said "My, youv'e done well with this" He then asked me to name the signatures he didn't recognise and said " Some of us are going to the George Best play tonight, i'm looking forward to it and to seeing some of the lads again" " I dont suppose you could take me along ....." I said laughing. He then signed my book , index card and my shirt. I then asked if he would mind if i took a photo of us together. "Of course you can " He said. I took out my phone and took a picture and wwe then walked back to the front door and i thanked him for his time and bid him farewell. "Drive safely Paul" "I will:)" Goodbye. And i left.
