Firstly, i want to say thank you to Wayne, benflleetboy for his help with this one. Cheers Wayne.
I post this for my friends! on here as i know they like to hear of my Reds legends knock knocks. Alex, you are right mate:)
As some of you know, i live in Lincoln, but work in Nottingham. As such, i have to pass/ go through this place very single day. I have called at this address twice before this morning, without an answer. Blinds closed upstairs and down told me/.........There on Holiday:)
This morning however, the blinds were open, and so i knocked, and knocked again;) Then i heard it...... The key turning in the inner door.
To my astonishment, there stood a very pretty lady in her dressing gown, i said " Oh.... Sorry to bother you so early, but is Mr "........ Tell you what, lets turn this into a competition 🙂 The winner will receive a David Herd signed Index card.
"Yes he is" She said. " I Wondered if he would be kind enough to sign my book for me?" Who .... she said?" in a kind manner.
"I'm afraid he is upstairs. You see we have just arrived back from Spain and whilst there his Knee collapsed, and he is having trouble getting down the stairs. I have told him to get to the hospital and get it sorted....mmmmmm" She said, then she moved to the base of the stairs and shouted " ...... Can you sign this a book for a fan at the door?" There came a mumbled voice from upstairs "Yes". She then took my book and went up the stairs. The lady came back with my book and showed me where he had signed. "Thank you so much for this,"I said. Would you please tell.... that i appreciate it very much, and that he should get to the hospital and get his knee sorted, we could do with him back on the pitch at Old Trafford lol:)
She said "I WISH!! The wages those lot get these days would be wonderful, my .... never got that kind of money, " There was a flat rate of pay when .... played for United" " Bobby , George, Nobby and all of them got the same! Bobby is a lovely man. I said" I need to go and see Sir Bobby again but i always get nervous" She said "Bobby is lovely:)"
With that she said" Is that a shirt in your bag"? Yes i said but i dont want to bother .... with it if he is poorly. Nonsense, she said, i will take it up to him. She then took my knockknock shirt and like all of you Laughed at Nobby's inscription:)
She came back down and said "There you are, he could't find much room but he signed it there for you".
Thank you ever so much Mrs .............. Then i bid her and Mr ............. all best and left:)
So........ Who is new on my knock knock shirt?? 😉 Prize is a David Herd Index card.
