After visiting Rob this morning i headed off for Manchester. I arrived at the address at around nine thirty. I am still a little warey of visiting this chap but it has to be done lol:)

I walked along the driveway to the front porch, and opening the outer porch door i rang the bell and stepped back outside to await an answer. Then i heard the door opening and a kind faced lady said "Can i help you?" "Yes please, is Mr Kidd at home?" "One minute" and then she dissapeared. After 20 seconds or so there stood Brian Kidd:) I said "Good orning Mr Kidd, sorry to both....... "Sorry!!!" Came the reply. "I cant sign anything more, they have put a block on us signing anything" "Oh, i said. But i only need you on my canvas and it's finished" "Well..... Let me have a look at it then" With that he took the canvas from its tube and said, when did you get Bill?" I replied that Mr Foulkes was already on it when i bought it" Oh and where did you buy it?" " I got it from a dealer in wolverhampton i think" "Oh i see, well i will sign just that for you as it is very nice and it will complete it" He then took the pen and signed. He then said "How is your family?" "Oh.... They are all fine thank you, and yours?" "All good thanks". "can i just say that i thought your views on Paul Ince and County were bang on, He wasn't given a fair crack of the whip in my opinion". He then said " I agree, the problem these days is that the powers that be want it all within 3 months or your out" . I nodded in agreement. "Nottingham is an excellent footballing city, some great talent has come from there". With that i tried to get a sig in my book but Mr Kidd opologised and said "Sorry but No" With that i bid him and his family fond farewell and shook his hand. Daren't ask for a photo lol:) Hope you like the canvas guys:)

Canvas looks great Paul and was good of him to sign it. I alwys enjoy reading you knock knock stories. Is there a reason why he isn't allowed to sign anymore?

I didnt ask lads, but i can only assume it has something to do with people selling on a well known auction site;) You see, all these guys have nominated charities that they sign items for and i guess they think that its like taking the bread out of there mouths.

Fantastic result for you, Paul. It's a pity he's not signing much but, I'm really pleased he added the final sig to that wonderful canvas. I really don't know how you find the nerve to approach these people at their homes. Scary.

Well done Paul,glad you completed the photo and he didn't refuse.Shame that some of the ex players seem to be 'banned' from signing.Like when I met Gordon Banks a few years back,he signed his autobiography but wouldn't sign my '66 team picture.
