John Murray ex Middlesex & England cricketer

Sent my "Old England Cricket XI" programme, FDC and index cards to John Murray via Middlesex CCC on 21/4 received all back signed on 5/5. He is the eighth ex player to sign the programme and FDC. Well pleased!

John Murray was a wicketkeeper/right hand bat who played cricket for Middlesex and England between 1952-75. He totalled 635 first class matches, making 18,872 runs, with a top score of 142, scoring 16 hundreds and 84 fifties. He took 1,527 dismissals in all matches.

He played in 21 Tests for England between 1961-67, scoring 506 runs, with a top score of 112

He was awarded the MBE for his services to cricket and is the brother in law of footballer Alan Mullery.
