James Earl Jones success

Finally, a reply after over a month of nowt. Sent a card to James Earl Jones vv in Sydney back in March. It returned from Adelaide today (his play finished its run there yesterday - he is in Perth for two weeks from the 8th if anyone is interested).

I  sent a Sesame Street card as I thought it would be something different and it would go with the Henson collection I have been building. JEJ was the unofficial first guest on Sesame St as he featured in the test shows. His recitation of the alphabet with dramatic pauses coined the term “The James Earl Jones Effect” (in relation to encouraging young audience participation). He also hosted the 10th anniversary special back in 1979. Field of Dreams is a favourite - I thought about sending something from that film - maybe next time. Thank you Mr Jones.

Great success. I'm a big fan of James Earl Jones. I have an index card signed by him too. A fine actor and wonderful voice. Love him in Field of Dreams too.

I never knew that he starred in the original "Sesame Street!" I used to watch that program daily in the early 1970's, and it's a very fond reminder of days past. GOOD FOR YOU, as he is a regular TTM signer, at least in the States.
