What a day.........Stanley win 3-0, Port Vale's No19 does a "Moonie" to the Vale fans as he leaves the pitch at half time..Port Vale Manager Jim Gannon is escorted to the dressing rooms at half time to abuse from his fans..At the final whistle Gannon won't go to the dressing rooms..around 400 fans are waiting for him there, shouting abuse to him and a few of the players. Extra stewards are called in so are the police..when No 19 Exodus Geohagon leaves the changing rooms to leave the ground for the coach..Bottles and abuse are thrown at him..he still stopped to sign my programme then it all kicked off..a couple of hundred Port Vale Fans come to this side of the ground and start taunting Exodus, he's around 6ft 4in tall and goes over to confront them...the gates are locked by the stewards and all the port vale players are stopped from leaving the ground..by now only 3 have signed the programme( Luckily Manager Jim Gannon signed before the game sarted) 8 of the players decide to go to the club bar for a beer, Alex shows them the way and when we get there I'm bought 2 pints by Port Vale's Cartain No9 Marc Richards. All 8 sign the programme whilst having a drink..first time for 4 season's that the away team have paid a visit to the club house Bar...Happy Days. Manager and Exodus are sneaked out a back way to meet the coach half a mile down the road. around 2 dozen Port Vale fans wait for their Chairman and Directors to appear and they have a heated debate about the club's £4 Million debt and what has gone on today..Can't see Jm gannon having a job there for much longer...word has it that Phil "The Power" Taylor and Robbie Williams are backing a take over bid....I thought Football supporters supported their team through thick and thin..The good times and the bad times...Felt sorry for their manager today. Good luck Port Vale FC
Anyway managed to add John Coleman and Jimmy Bell to Accy Stanley FDC's, I'll get them to sign the opposite one's next home game, Stanley's Phil Edwards and Kevin Long signed photo's in the programme and 12 of the 21 Port Vale Players were happy to sign the programme along with Manager Jim Gannon. Thank you Port Vale FC and good luck with the Boardroom wrangle.
