Travelled up to Canary Wharf for a Waterstones signing today, and I must say I liked the way they did it. It was at Jubilee Place, and as the Waterstones branch is small, they host the signing in the middle of the mall a bit further down past the Starbucks. Got there at 11:45, so was only 5th in the queue. By the time the signing started at 12.30pm there was a lengthy queue. By being out in the open like that it attracted a lot more interest as a result. Jubilee Place is quite posh by mall standards - my first time there. Works well for signings, and the staff there were very friendly and helpful.
Cliff and Terry were there promoting the lovely 61 : The Spurs Double slipcased set which is officially endorsed by the football club complete with hologram on the rear of the slipcase. A beautiful book and both are legends from the 61 squad, especially Cliff who is one of the football greats. As well as this new book they also kindly became sigs 6 & 7 in my Spurs Player By Player coffee table book, and sigs 2 & 3 in my Spurs Cult Heroes book. Cliff was the only one of the two featured in the latter book, but I thought it would be rude to only ask him to sign, and not Terry. Both were lovely chaps to meet.
They are doing another signing of this book at Waterstones Enfield on 4th December.
