Following my reply from David Elleray in April, it was nice to see he remembered my letter to him. Mind you, I am probably one of the few people in this country that does not want video technology in football, and likes officials as they are, so my letter probably stood out. I like the game as it is, warts'n'all as it makes for more excitement. As such, I appreciated the letter I received today.

mmmm eeeerm. To be honest with you mate, i am one that does want goal line tech in the game. Remember..... That is all it is so far. I truly believe that if there is some doubt as to whether the ball was over the line or not, then there should be a video ref to proove it, or not as the case may be.
Off side decisions/ penalties should in my opinion be left to the officials on the day, but as far as goal line......... Its video evidence for me.:)
Sorry mate, just my opinion:)
PS, I think Sir Geoff would disagree ha ha ha ha 😄

Really nice follow up to your original letter, Nigel.
I can see why certain members of the game want the technology but, there will still be arguments when decisions go against them.

A very nice letter Nigel , I don't fancy any video technology in football the dodgy decisions and arguments are part of the game .
