A Grouch reply

Firstly, sorry I haven't been on here for a few weeks - been a bit busy. I have only had one reply in that time - Caroll Spinney AKA Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. I wrote to him last year after reading his memoirs "The Wisdom of Bid Bird" and thought that I might not get a reply as I heard that he was getting snowed under with mail (especially after the Mitt Romney comment about Big Bird and PBS funding last year) . He's an amazing illustrator and performer that most people grew up watching. It's impressive that Caroll is still going strong as he turns 80 this year - I hope he can reach his target of 50 years on the show. A documentary on his life is being produced at the moment. Caroll returned my photo, card and bookplate and generously included lots of extras. He did an illustration on the stiffener, added signed christmas prints of his illustrations and computer prints outs. I like his illustrations on the card and bookplate. Thank you Mr. Spinney
