We want to take this opportunity to remind you about the legal requirements of displaying ingredients and allergen information when selling food or drink products. These requirements are in place to ensure consumers who may be allergic or have an intolerance to certain ingredients are given complete transparency.
In line with the current guidelines set by the Food and Standards Agency in the UK (FSA), the following allergen groups must be declared by law;
- Celery
- Cereals containing gluten
- Crustaceans
- Eggs
- Fish
- Lupin
- Milk
- Molluscs
- Mustard
- Peanuts
- Sesame
- Sulphur Dioxide and Sulphites
- Tree Nuts
All food or drink products that contain any of the above ingredients must display this information clearly on the product packaging.
We also encourage our sellers to add information to the “allergens” item specific section when creating a listing. You can tick those that apply from the above list.
