This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Good morning

Today's rather late Atkins inspired brekkie was 5 pork chops with a boiled egg and a suck on one of those new "Sewage Fish" from the Thames to calm the old breath down

I thank you

Hi everyone.

Sounds like I'm not the only one who has a treat after weigh-in. I like to see it as my night off lol. I don't go overboard but it is nice to relax a bit just once a week.

Keep going everyone, we're getting there 🙂

Kate - I thank you my dear

Today's rather early Atkins inspired brekkie consisted of an eel and liver crow's egg omlette ( whites only ) with a boiled egg coupled with a gargle on a liquidised cow-pat to calm the old breath down

hello

i genuinely lost 3 stone within about 3 months on a diet which is sort of a mixture between the atkins diet and a normal balanced diet. Brian mcfadden - ex westlife was on this diet as well and lost a lot of weight.
This is it....

1)Eat no bread whatsoever but pasta is allowed!
2)Eat a bowl of cereal (every day if possible) - with semi-skimmed milk and no sugar (avoid sugar puffs, frosties etc!)
3) Eat at least 2 pieces of fruit a day
4) Eat as much soup as you wish - i.e the Heinz range or cuppa soup - easily fill a gap when peckish
5) Just like the atkins diet - you can eat meat - but make sure it is full meat - i.e no pastry/stuffing etc
6) You can eat diary products - i.e low fat yoghurts/cheese etc - but not in abundance
7) Try and avoid totally pre-packaged foods - i.e microwaveable lasagne/sheppards pie/meals
8) Avoid frying your food
9)You can eat a full english breakfast if you wish - just don't add toast! - grill your sausages and bacon etc
10) Finally!Do not eat anything after 6pm!! You will be hungry for the first few days - but you will get used to it soon

So good luck - try it for a week and you will be surprised. Unlike the atkins diet - u are allowed to eat cereal or pasta - these are deemed as "good carbohydrates". Follow the plan above and weight loss is guaranteed. It might not be as much as the atkins diet - i.e you may only lose 4/5lbs after the first week instead of 8/9!! But this is a healthier and much more gradual weightloss diet. Try and exercise as much as you can also with this diet - if you do not like the gym - take up the 10,000 steps a day challenge!
good luck

Went to weigh in last night at SW and gained 1/2 lb! No idea why as stuck to the plan rigidly last week, 100%. Bit of a shock as I feel better and was convinced I'd lost this week.

Our normal consultant is away for a couple of weeks, her replacement was horrible - made me feel like a 5 year old being told off. She told me that she didn't believe that I'd stuck to the plan as I would have lost weight, and I must be lying. Well, I wasn't. Not sure if I'll go next week, might wait until the normal consultant comes back. This one was rude to everyone and very abrupt.

The meeting was over in 10 minutes, it normally takes over an hour. No raffle, no slimmer of the week, no clapping - no fun at all.

Oh well, here's to this week, fingers crossed (again).

Morning everyone.

Lost another ½ lb yesterday :-D. We had to have our WI in the rain in the middle of a car park yesterday because someone locked the place up where we normally go. Oh well, didn't have to pay this week 😉

Well done to everyone who has lost this week.

Jay - don't give up, next week will be better.

Mrtestube - what you listed is pretty much what I eat on most days except I don't eat fry ups anymore and I eat more fruit. The whole not eating after 6pm I can't do because of work commitments. I generally end up eating dinner around midnight or 1am! :_|

I have just discovered Philadelphia extra light! How did I ever live without it!! :^O

Have a great week! 🙂

Hi everyone

Had a very stressful week - sold & unsold then resold flat - phew. Handed in notice at work and now going to be homeless & jobless in a month!!!!! HELP

Anyway, I also put on 1/2lb last week - was really annoyed as my weight was fluctuating between the week before's weight & 1/2lb heavier and the leader said "oh well, we'll count that as 1/2 on" cheek!

Anyway, can't go this week or next as going down to York to try to find somewhere to live (don't really fancy my tent in this weather.

Well done to everyone last week & good luck to everyone for weigh-ins tonight.
