This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOLFI'

No worries, if it's your birthday!
In any case, you have been more than good this week so you would probably be able to have that & still be ok.

Enjoy!
Oh, you already have lol
Hope it was 'lish

:x

Hi Melody & welcome 🙂

I am the same too (at that time) 😮
I read somewhere, that we crave sugery things just before a period is due because our bodies "Magnesium" level drops.
This aparantly causes the sugery munch attacks.
Forever & a day I have been meaning to ask the chemist about it, or the doc' but I keep forgetting.
I will try & find out soon, if you do before me, let me know if there's anything we can take to counteract the piggin' chokky moments lol.
I will let you know if I find out anything!
(fingers crossed).
Well done on the non-smoking, you deserve a medal.
Good on you!

Morning all....its too hot and I can't sleep...been browsing through some of the comments made cba to read all of them at the moment tho ;)!! I'm getting married in 5 weeks and last October I joined Slimming World with my fiance and managed to lose a grand total of 3 stone in about 5 months. Unfortunately I hit the plateau and the weight stopped moving in the right direction. What made it worse is that my partner kept on losing each week and has just reached his 5 stone award. I'm really proud of him don't get me wrong im just sooooooo jealous!! Anyway for about the last 3 months I have been half heartedly attempting to follow the diet but kept being sidetracked by pork pie and hob nob flapjacks and managed to put 18lbs back on. I have just had a week at the dreaded Atkins diet and shifted 9 lbs. IF and I know its a big if it carries on like this I will be back to my three stone loss before my wedding but I know that long term Atkins is not the answer...but its sure helping short term :). My main problem is I want everything yesterday and I have a lot of weight to shift!! I guess it will be back to Slimming World in the end but for now its Atkins all the way!! nite nite x

Apparently eating pickled onions stops cravings for chocolate, according to my slimming world consultant.

I stayed the same last night, surprising seeing as I'd had a really bad two weeks. Back on the plan now though.

lol golfi'

I went to WW last night & have lost 1/2 a pound this week!
(Still half a pound down though from my 1.5 lb gain 3 weeks ago!*sigh*)
Need to pull my socks up! lol

Well this week I bought a step counter to give me some extra inspiration!
As it cost me £13, I had better put it to good use lol.
See if it can lose me 13lb too (lb, type pounds) lol.

A lady that goes to WW & has just got to her target (at least I think she has)
& she gave up the ciggys, back in January after 43 YEARS!!!!!!

I will make my second attempt next monday onwards!
Just shows ya it can be done! :o):-)
Have a nice day everyone

Hi everyone, haven't been able to post for a while as my computer in work is playing up. At last week weigh in I put on 1½lb and last night I lost it again. Keep going up and down with this 1½, think its because I only have 3 to lose to reach my target weight. Glad to see everyone is still sticking to it.

Well down to everyone who has had a loss this week. See ya soon.

Well, trapse'd around the zoo for 3-4hrs, got home & looked at the counter & I had only managed (just under)5000 steps!
There again we did travel the circumferance of the zoo on the open top bus & there was a lot of sitting time whilst our little monkey had fun on the park lol.
So all in all i'm quite pleased with that!

BTW I took as a packed lunch:
4 x ryvitas (2points) & a little tin of WW tuna in mayo (2 points) & half a banana!(1 point)
Can't believe I was so good lol

Total points today is 21!!!!
(had 22 yesterday).

I want a result this week, more than I want chokky lol

I also got 3 weeks supply of patches from the doc' today, ready to stop smoking on monday!

Splash!, nothing like jumping in at the deep end lol

Good luck everyone
:-D

good luck with the patches sparkle, I aim to give up on my 40th birthday. That's 16 months away and I reckon I should have shifted most of the weight I want to lose by then! It's a date I have had in mind for quite a while now, and as it gets closer I am looking forward to it rather than dreading it!

mind you, I went to SW tonight and have only lost 1lb, so at that rate I might be giving up for my 50th!!!!!

did anyone watch 'fat nation' tonight?? doing bum clenches as I type - oooerr!!!!

good luck again sparkle, keep us informed of your progress

Kate

Good luck with the smoking Sparkle.

Went out last night and had chips on the way home. Oops. Mind you, have been good all week so might not matter too much.

Hope not anyway, too late now lol.

Thanks Kate & Jay 😄

After gaining a stone when I gave up (for 6 weeks) last time, I decided to get my weight off 'first' too.
Then as it's taken me this long just to shed what I put on I thought it's still taking forever even with the ciggys. (me personally I mean, not directed at you in any way).
So I though sawd it!
In for a penny.......
I know how many points a day I should have so it's just a case of trying to be even stronger than I have been already. (which at times, isn't that good)
I hope that when it comes around to your birthday, I will be able to say that I have been a non-smoker for 16 months now, best thing I ever did! lol, here's hoping anyway!

I saw a little bit of fat nation last night, enough to see the clenches lol & i'm right there with you lol.
The funny thing is tho' I said to hubby last night, "it can't be too good for the sofa" lol.
We are expecting a new one delivered next week & it might take a bashing lol.
Good luck tho' for when you reach that birthday, the great thing is you have set a date! :8}
Anyway A pound loss is great (much better than I have been doing lol) & my previous leader lost 4 STONE on a pound a week loss!
Good luck kate.

Jay, one bag of chips wont do any damage, (as long as you didn't sink a bottle of voddy first lol!)
Next WI is a wee while away so there's time to repair, either way.;-)
Good luck in doing so :8}

Feeling really focussed, at the mo', lets hope I don't go hay wire at the weekend lol

Have a good one everyone!

BTW, my bonus buddy, bleeped last night to tell me I had walked enough for that day (to earn it) lol.
When it bleeps, it means you have been classed as having done the correct amount of moderate exercise, for that day, depending on your weight etc.

It was around 7-8000!
Any more walking after that counts towards bonus points!

So with walking to school & back next week, I should be able to hear them bleeps more often lol.

Having my last official, lazy day today!
When Joshy starts school on monday, I wont know whats hit me lol!
Have to be out of the house by 8.30! Gulp!
Having done all the usual stuff ie: rounding them up, dressing, feeding etc lol.
I know it's all old hat for some of you's but it will be a shock to the system for me lol.
