Parcel lost by pick up point

Good morning

Just looking for a little advice. A buyer purchased a rather expensive item from me, which they opted to be delivered to a pick up point (newsagent). The tracking shows it was delivered there, and Royal Mail have provided a photograph of the parcel in the shop, however the buyer is claiming that the shop has misplaced the item. He has now opened a request for a refund, and wants to know if a claim can be opened with Royal Mail, however as they have proof that the item was delivered would they be able to assist or is the onus on the parcel shop?

Royal Mail have done their job by delivering the item to the address on the package, so I don't see why anyone would think it possible to claim from them. What would be the basis of such a claim?

Has the buyer been told by the store that they've misplaced their item?

If this is the case, they should contact eBay about it.
