Has anyone tested which gives a better return between putting an item on a sale or increasing the promotional percentage?

Postage included in the price seems be best, if they buy two well thats a nice bonus.  I offer 15% discount on two and they think they are getting a bargain

Surely both result in a worse return? 🙂
