ebay let people to sell the fake £1 £5 and £10 UK notes on auction, that is illegal. Any buyer should aware of these.

If you come across such fake notes use the report option found on every listing for ebay to remove them,as ebay can't police the whole site,so look to members to help report and bring such listings to there attention.

To add to the information given,  if enough buyers open cases for item not as described,  eBay take note,  and place sanctions and even lifetime bans on sellers accounts.

You are - of course - right but how would eBay prevent them being listed?  I very much doubt that any seller would add to the description "these are fake"

If a buyer buys a fake note they can - presumably - use the Money Back Guarantee. 

I'd find it odd to see a £50 note advertised for less than £50; a strange business model.

Take all the details including screenshots and make a report to the police.
