I want to sell an item on eBay but I do not have the EAN and MPN numbers, I have looked at similiar items for sale on eBay but they do not match. When I tried to publish my item for sale it was rejected. What do I do next?

The item must be rejected for another reason, because it's not mandatory to enter those numbers.
However, I do notice that you have returned to selling after a very long time, and there have been some big changes on eBay.
PayPal is no longer used for the receiving of payments from sales, eBay Manage Payments now. All sellers have to register for this, to be able to list items for sale and receive payouts from those sales.
You may be prevented from listing an item, because you have not fully or correctly registered with eBay's Managed Payments.
You need to provide eBay with details of a bank account and have this account verified. The usual method here, is for eBay to send 2 micro deposits into that nominated bank account for you to receive, and confirm to eBay.
Once this is completed, you will be able to list items for sale, and receive payouts from those sales.
This will show you how to register for eBay's Managed Payments.
