return of faulty dress

Hi

I went through ebay return an item proceedure as the dress arrived with a large pull in the front and damaged.  The seller has contacted me directly through email and told me to return the dress and pay for postage but wont accept my return through the ebay returns option - which means I cant print of labels or track its return.  She says once I return the dress in the post she will refund me but I'm worried about doing it this way rather than through the ebay returns way?  Are I right top worry or does it not matter.

You should have opened a "Not as described" case which you can escalate to ebay if necessary.   With a return case the seller can accept or refuse.   Now you've opened one you cannot open the other.

 

Tell her to accept it.  It will not have a negative affect on her account, which is what she may be worried about.  If she won't be sure to return using trackable postage so at least you have proof of return.
