postage paid by buyer does no match the postage cost I advertised

I've just sold 4 items on ebay & in each case, I advertised the postage price as what it would have cost me using royal mail 2nd class, plus aproximately 50p to cover packaging (a bit more or less than 50p depending on the size of the item for sale). Now the ite,s have sold, the buyers have paid the cost of the item, plus a postage fee that is less than what I advertised - it seems to be based on shutle delivery costs....with no allowance made for the cost of the packaging. Is this ebay policy? How can I stipulate the postage cost so that's what buyers have to pay? Thanks!

Buyers pay whatever postage fee is shown in the postage section on your listing, there's no way they can adjust this at eBay checkout.

When you receive a PayPal payment, payment take their cut (3.4% of the payment plus 20p) to receive it. Is this what you mean?

Be aware that eBay will bill you for their final value fees at a later date, which will be 10% of the item and postage price.
