The item was not in the location as advised in the advert

Hi

I bought a bed base and mattress as 'buy it now'.  The seller then gave me his address which is not in the location stated in the advert - it's increased the round trip by 40 miles.  I contacted him to say the location is different from the advert (which he says is down to how Ebay have determined his location, and not him) and that I want to cancel the sale.

He says he will lose out on ebay fees and also paypal fees if he refunds; so he offered to refund 10% of the cost of the bed against the the extra mileage - which doesn't help really.

I still want to cancel the sale.

Where do I stand?

Sellers can and should change item location during the listing process.   As long as the seller issues refund correctly from their Paypal account the Paypal fee will automatically be refunded.   Then the seller can cancel the transaction on ebay (with your agreement) to get their ebay final value fee back.
