My buyer says my shirts they purchased are not genuine

I purchased them years ago from a well known catalogue (husband only wore them once) so if this is true i am horrified as i would never knowingly do this. Do i just take there word for this as i wouldn't know how to check?  How do i go about refunding them?  Thanks for any advice.

If you're sure of their provenance just tell the buyer that you bought them from a reputable and well known catalogue, and that they are not fake. Some brands produce lines solely for catalogue sale, perhaps the buyer has noticed that a label is slightly different to what they may already be familiar with, or the country of origin may not be the same.

If they're still not happy, tell them to return them to you for a refund.

Don't make a refund until the shirts are back.
