I put a listing up at 10 am this morning and it's still not live on eBay through any of the categories apart from the listing number I was told it would be live later in the day 12 hours on and still nothing is this normal practice for ebay charging people to list items then not put them up ??

As the previous responder mentioned, newly listed items can indeed take up to 24 hours to be indexed and picked up by the search engine and a warning about the delay is onscreen when you submit the listing.
