Hi Merlin - you may remember you put some pics of your latch hook rug on and I said I would have a go at doing one.
Well I have finished it apart from binding it, so thought I would post a pic.
Sorry to be showing something Christmassy in February but I chose to do a Christmas one because I thought it would take me all year to finish it LOL!!!
I have never been into any form of "crafting" but you were right this was easy to do, it must have been because I managed it.
Thanks for suggesting it

Merlin - when you did your latch hook rugs how did you finish them off please - eg did you just tuck the canvas over and sew, or did you use some sort of binding etc. Bearing in mind I am useless I am just wondering what I should do to finish this little rug mat off.
Thank you 🙂

you can bind it, like a quilt
but if you want the easier option

i have done both
i prefer the video one
and then i get another piece, just larger than the rug, and iron the "hem" and place hem side down
so the bottom is completely covered by one piece, it just looks neater
does that make sense?

Hi Merlin - I wish I hadn't picked a curved rug to make as my first one LOL! Thanks fo the video link - I am not quite sure I understand the last bit - do you mean you buy a piece of cloth larger and then fold the hem in so that it ends up same size as rug - and then do you just sew it on?

Ok now can i ask a silly question ...if i had made a cushion size one how would i put the back onto it , just sew on backing fabric ?
