refunds

on ebay if you sell an item and it is delivered but the buyer does not collect it from the courier and they return it to the seller. Does the seller have to refund the postage?

refunds

The bottom line is if the buyer opens a "not receievd" case on ebay they will get a full refund including postage.   If you refund before that you could agree a lesser amount.

I was under the impression that atttempted delivery and failure to collect invalidated Buyer Protection?

Yes,  attempted delivery is considered to be a delivery.  When the seller receives the returned item a courtesy refund should be made because the seller now has the goods and the buyer has neither goods nor money.

As far as I know, the seller can deduct the cost of the outward postage.
