You could factor the cost of packaging into the cost of the item, which
is what I'm doing - but sales will drop either way. Since eBay
introduced this rip off system, sales across the board have dropped.
Even AI acknowledges that it's not gone well.
eBay doesn't want us 99p bidders and sellers anymore. We're not
profitable enough - so we've been screwed over with eBay's 20% on top of
postage charge for years (which is BS as eBay doesn't provide any
VATable service to speak of). Now they're slapp...
I've been there - offer of a role that was exactly the same but paid
less, or take statutory redundancy. Taking redundancy was the best
choice I'd made in a decade.
We were already paying VAT on postage. eBay was charging us a % on top
of the standard charge for ages. So people went freepost, and increased
their item costs.
