Thank you, this is the conclusion I was leaning towards-Ebay is potentially losing out on hundreds by me not selling my high end items here. It's their loss though, for always siding with the buyer & not protecting the seller from being scammed.

Thanks very much. The buyer has asked me to cancel saying they can’t afford to pay. I take it if I cancel the sale, they will then be free to go on & do this to other sellers in future? If so I think I’d rather report this as unpaid.
