hello
a while back i sold some items for charity and the process seemed to be ... sell, get a request to make a payment via paypal, make the payment, get a receipt showing the amount, the name of the charity, and that gift-aid was selected.
i could be wrong but the process seems to have changed. the transaction details show a deduction for charity but i haven't received a receipt. i found a page /dashboard/donation-history which lists the sale as 'not invoiced'. do i just need to wait for a notification that the payment has been made and for a receipt? or do i need to take some action?
would be very grateful if some kind soul could clarify please.

Yes, it's changed. Ebay take the amount straight away. This means for example if you end up refunding the buyer for some reason, you need to ask the charity for the donation back - if you want the money back.
Is your main issue about the receipt? I can look tomorrow if I remember - I sold something for charity around Christmas 2024 (and had to refund the buyer. I didn't ask the charity for the money back.)

You can get a pop up page of the receipt - on ebay.com (well, I can for mine).
Click "View Donation Transmission Receipt" on
https://www.donation.ebay.com/dashboard/donation-history?year=2025&filter=noninvoiced

And I got an email from PayPal Giving Fund stating "Official donation receipt" 4 weeks after the sale.

thanks for confirming that things have changed.
its the receipt I'm after indicating that gift-aid is to be applied. under the 'old' process, it used to come straight away when you made the paypal payment. but under the new process, nothing so far. maybe i just need to be patient!

hello
"the receipt from the paypal giving fund can take up to 21 days."
having just had some receipts finally arrive, it would seem that paypal can take up to 31 days to send out a receipt.
