Prepared feedback

I work as a volunteer ( for a small London based charity) listing items and posting items out to buyers. I am very keen to maintain the 100% feedback score built up since 2004. However, in the last few days, I have noticed pre prepared feedback comments such as ' Order successfully completed' or just  ' As described' appearing from several buyers. The point that I would like to make is the latter is shown as a neutral response on the breakdown. Am I correct in thinking that if we receive too many of these, our feedback score is at risk of being reduced ? If these are default settings from Ebay ( to try to get full feedback compliance from buyers) how can we possibly maintain our  hard won top score ?

The "As described" feedback is left by the buyer, the "Order successfully completed" is auto feedback left by Ebay for newish sellers after a certain amount of time if buyer has left no feedback,a boost as it were.It doesn't happen for too long, usually 3 times and doesn't affect you at all.

I think your biggest issue is that none of your listings say anything about listing for a charity.

I'm guessing the charity is registered as a business so they should really register on Ebay as such and give you access to list things on their behalf so all payments go to them.

As it is, you take full responsibility for returns costs.refunds and could possibly attract interest from HMRC.Stating "no returns" means zilch if a buyer opens a "not as described" claim.

I wish you well 😋.

Are the items you are listing for the charity on another account?

All of the feedback you have received on this account is positive.  You haven't received any neutrals.

Only 1 of the feedbacks you have received is an 'eBay automated positive feedback'.  These are left if there is no feedback left by the buyer within 7 days of delivery confirmation but can still be overridden by the buyer.  It used to only be for new sellers but now applies to all sellers.

Neutral feedback won't affect your feedback score.  Only negative feedback will.

Thanks for that ! My volunteering is completely separate from my own seller account, and in hindsight I should not have raised my query on this forum. Very helpful information though !

Many thanks.

My volunteering for the Charity is separate from my private seller account, so I should have posted this query separately  ! Oddly enough, I have not had any auto feedback on my own account yet ( probably as things are so quiet at the moment ) !

Thanks for your answer.

P.S. Everyone who sells long enough on eBay receives Negative or Neutral feedback eventually. Please don't sweat it! Of course it helps to know the Feedback rules (e.g. when to ask eBay to remove it). And good customer service will often help change the situation, so that you can request Feedback Revision. But when all else fails, just leave a measured honest feedback response, and know that it will disappear after a year.
