EBAY robbing our charities

i have just been informed by an ebay agent that charity donations are not taken on all sales..

i you buy of ebay and pay then a donation goes to the agreed charity

if you bid or make an offer and Ebay take the funds directly no money goes to the charity ,

ebay have just told me they are not in control of the money, so all you sellers who has your money for up to two weeks is it not ebay ,

i find it sad that all these charities we have nominated will have been robbed by ebay,

your thoughts please

regards paul

I don't think that's correct. And ebay automatically pay the charity, the seller does not receive the money from which they then pay the charity.

However, as far as I know ebay does keep all/any Buyer Protection Fee received on a charity listing.

EBAY robbing our charities

Hi @jpa6708 ,

Thank you for your post.

Charity donations are taken on all transactions from charity listings. The donations are automatically collected by eBay at the time of the transaction. If you make an offer on a listing or a bid and it results in a sale the donation is then taken.

Please see more details on how it works for charity listings here.

Thank you,

Kat
