eBay android app not working

eBay Android app has stopped working as of 9 Jan. Older phone running Android 6; Google Play Store and Play Services are up-to-date. Tried clearing the cache and data for both, deleted and reinstalled the eBay app (several times); still getting the same "no longer supported" error message with a prompt to update the app, but when you get to the Play Store, there's no option to update. Any idea? Bueller? Anyone?

I think so but they aren't saying what to replace it with either so it's really really unhelpful.

I don't know what the minimum version is but I  can tell you it is working on my phone running 8.1

Never mind, gs5 dosnt work much for ebay. The site version sucks and can hardly do anything.
