I cant upgrade on my phone. This is so frustrating .

No matter what I do I keep trying to upgrade my moble app. Which means no shopping or selling. I think ebay will be missing out on a lot of customers unless this issue is fixed pronto!!

Re: I cant upgrade on my phone. This is so frustrating .

Apparently it's not a technical issue there's nothing to fix.

A Community Manager posted this....   The latest eBay app version is no longer compatible with android 9 and below. It actually requires OS android 10 and above. If you have another device with android 10 and above you can check the most recently updated eBay app version and see if you can view images.

eBay made this announcement a few days ago:

https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Announcements/Updating-the-eBay-app-latest-version-guide-supported-o...

members have reported removing the app the browser works well on the phone,  not ideal if you prefer the app but some sort of workaround to carry on using  the same device.

Unfortunately this is happening more and more, tech teams issue an update without thinking through the consequences for customers with older phones. I own an older phone and can no longer use all the features on my Natwest banking app since their last update.  Basically companies penalising people who don't want to or aren't able to buy newer models, especially when their existing phones are working perfectly well. Ebay are going to lose a lot of customers over this....

You can buy secondhand phones with newer operating systems quite cheaply

On eBay, obviously.

Tech does go out of date unfortunately

Well before things break or stop working.

Not very sustainable, but that is why I replace my tech with secondhand.

It's cheaper, and better for the planet.

Just search by operating system version to find the cheapest secondhand replacement phones/tablets, that is what I do.

Using outdated tech risks your bank accounts and personal online security anyway, tech needs to be updated to safeguard your online presence.
