Genuine messages will also come in the Message System, if not then it is a spoof and should be forwarded to spoof@ebay.com

Hi I never ever ever ever ever responded to ebay from my own browser. I go to my eBay account and then go to messages and look from there. If it genuine you will see the same email there. If you can't see it then it more than likely to be a scam
