Why does ebay sell fake graphics cards & also recommend them to me by email?

Five times now I have received emails from ebay inviting me to purchase FAKE graphics cards?

Have you ever seen a GTX 1060 wth a VGA connector?

Have you ever seen an "unbranded" nvidia card?

Have you ever seen a nvidia card that CANNOT be updated online?

I'm sure many buyers have been conned by these sellers

Ebay doesn't sell anything. And they don't allow fakes to be sold on their sites - that is why there's a 'Report' button on every listing.

Are you sure these emails are genuine Ebay emails...?  They're far more likely to be phishing emails sent by criminal gangs.  If you've clicked on any links in these emails, check your device/s for malware, and change all your passwords.

Bear in mind that if these messages are genuine they are sent by robots who base what they send out on searches/purchases made by members.

They have no means of identifying fakes, but just go by words in the titles. It is up to members to report, but again I doubt that if ebay staff ever look at reports, they have the knowledge to identify what to some people would be obvious fakes.

John you say they have no means of identifying fakes but it would be so easy > comes from China & has exactly the same pictures as ALL the other fakes. The last one ebay recommended had sold 7 in the last 24 hours. I think if nvidia got involved they would soon find a way to stop this problem.
