There is no Report Gouging option in the "On the File report page, select e Report Category field.

Hi

I have been trying to report a seller for knowingly over pricing an item on ebay.

Ebay encourage this - There is even a whole page about "Price Gouging" in the Help Section telling you how to do it.

But when you follow the instructions there is no "Report Price Gouging" option in the drop down menu in "Report this Item"?

Does anyone know how to contact ebay to tell them about this? Everything seems to be an automatic response that just sends you to the "Help Section" again?

No one is actually reading & understanding what the problem is?

Hi Andy - I appreciate you trying to help - But I still cannot see "Price Gouging" in drop down menu?
I click on "Report item" & I am then on a page with 3 x drop down menus -First is "Report Category", which has 3 options - "Copyright and trademark" - "Listing practices" - "Prohibited and restricted items" - I pick "Listing Practices" & then you have the "Reason for report" drop down menu, which has many choices, including "Fraudulent listing activities", but then when you come to the third drop down menu, "Detailed reason", there's only two options, and neither seems to refer to "Price Gouging". (you have to fill in all 3 boxes to work).
This is odd because the ebay support info says, & I quote: "On the File a Report page, select Price gouging in the Report Category field.." But there is no option?
Do you know how to contact and ask ebay about this?

the price gouging option is for items that have had their prices increased to take advantage of the current covid-19 situation

ebay are not interested in sellers who overprice other items, as it is up to the seller how much they choose to list at,

what is the item you want to report?

You claim that EBay encourage "Price Gouging" ? How they tell you how to do it. If that's the Case why bother trying to Report something which EBay have  Sanctioned then?

No...e-bay DO want you to report "Price Gouging" (look it up in "Help Section".) Eg. People who knowingly put over priced items on ebay trying to catch out the naive, or vulnerable by misrepresenting something and saying its "rare". It can also start a knock on effect, when other sellers see the over priced listing, they put their prices up too. It falsely inflates the prices.
The "Help Section" tells you there's a drop down menu in 'Report Item" for "Price-Gouging" BUT there is not?????
