Spring traps are for sale on ebay that are illegal for use in the UK. How can I report ?

Many Spring traps on sale on ebay l do not meet the Spring Traps Approval Order in the UK.  They are a criminal offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act .  Yet they are recommended for wild mammal trapping in the UK.  This is unethical.

Have you used the REPORT button. Putting on a Members Forum, will not get anything done.

Raise it with the RSPCA they would have more chance of getting them removed.

There's a 'Report' button on every listing.

Report too to Trading Standards if the seller is a UK business seller.

Others have complained about these.

Some are NOT illegal to sell, no matter how cruel.

The RSPCA need to campaign to ebay (and other sites) to stop selling them.

Have you read eBay's policy on the sale of animal traps? If not, see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/animal-traps-policy?id=5040&st=12&p...

If the traps you're describing contravene this policy there is a link in every listing to report it. (It's on the far right of the page, level with the Postage and Payments tab.)

A drop-down menu will appear; you will need to select the option that best describes it.

Don't count on any action being taken - eBay's response to reports is very patchy. EBay doesn't like bad publicity, so it might help if one of the animal cruelty charities writes to their Head Office in London.

As has been said, if these types of traps are illegal you can also report them to trading standards. Even if the seller is in China, many have a distribution base in the UK which trading standards may be empowered to enter and seize illegal traps.
