I've been getting a bit disillusioned with eBay's attitude to scams and bad business practice recently.
Have a couple of other examples but to be honest I just can't be bothered any more, in each case I've reported it to eBay and was ignored. It will just feed into the "I bought one thing from eBay and was scammed" attitude that seems to becoming common amongst the general populace.
The only thing I would say is that we do not know what goes on behind the scenes.
If ebey remove them they are back again next day on another hacked account. Perhaps ebay prefers to be able to keep an eye on them once identified.
If every buyer uses the money back guarantee (unfortunately I suspect that if foolish enough to buy from obvious frauds many don't use the MBG) the seller may be losing out on fees. I cannot believe that long term frauds can make money, the main aim is to get as many mugs as possible to pay, not pay any ebay fees and take the money and run.
For a long term fraud, either ebay just collect their fees or they receive no fees. I know what would happen if I didn't pay fees, so conclusion must be that ebay are just happy to be paid.
Indeed one must question eBay's intent.
There's a private seller making and selling face masks and has sales so far c£12,000. They have been reported dozens of times by numerous members – but nothing.
I reported a seller over a month ago who is listing and selling counterfeit Harrods and Versace products..ebay have taken no action whatsoever..more counterfeit items have been added to the listings recently
Harrods Teddy Bear Mugs Versace Chopping Boards and Throws etc..the seller seems proficient at circumnavigating ebay by listing the make as unbranded yet the photos clearly show the brand
Yes and thanks for Reporting the Listings. Ebay do Remove a lot of the Scam Listings, but as soon as they do they are back up again on yet another Compromised Account. With 1.3 Billion Listings at anyone time I imagine it is nigh impossible to keep Track of them all. Is Buyer beware on here unfortunately.
eBay not REMOTELY interested in 'Reports' - despite their daft 'claims'.
Have reported a seller for Keyword Spamming [ebay item 402681968915] and eBay has done absolutely nothing.
Why waste our time?
Just put up almost the same thing. EBay allow fraudulent practices because they just want the money.
Like all these complaints, just remember - eBay is after MONEY. Not remotely interested in ethics. NOR in its own 'rules'.
I reported a crystal-clear/brazen 'Wanted' ad. days ago and it is still up.
Feeble eBay takes no action on such things - making money is far more important.
