How do I close my account? I used it once some years ago and never have since. The contact options send you round in a pemanent loop. Not a clever way to retain customers

"Not a clever way to retain customers" But you are wanting to close. It is not ebay putting obstacles in your way

There are so many links on the ordinary ebay page, or even entering "Close Account " in Help & Contact that there is no need for ebay to get involved, the process like most things on ebay is automated.
