HELP! fraudulent email?? from ''PayPal'' regarding Chinese ebay purchase''

Please could a knowledgeable person help??

I just received an email using my Christian {first} name

It says it is a receipt for two spot lights that i deffo don't use and would never buy.

It looks like a ''receipt'' and says ''you sent a payment to [some chinese name] and has a so say UK address.

I think this has scam all over it.

My Paypal shows no such deduction, and is the ''most real'' looking fake receipt I have yet seen.

Has anyone else had this??

Obviously a scam, hoping you will respond and divulge information. We all get them in one form or other, you can forward to spoof@paypal.com and then just delete

I get spoof 'PayPal' emails almost every day, and have done for years. As long as the payment hasn't come out of your PayPal account (log into it separately, not from the email, to check), it's a phishing email. Just forward it to spoof@paypal.com, and delete. If you clicked on any links in the email, change all your passwords immediately.

Hi, I didn't click on any of the links, but this was the 'best' phishing email to date I have seen.
What was strange though they had a ''resolution centre'' button to press..... to 'dispute' any transaction.
I wondered where they got my Christian name from?

I warned my mother too.. I have had umpteen poor quality ones, but this one was one of the better ones, but it still rang bells, hence my asking here.

I forwarded it to PayPal, and blocked the number.


Strangely, another spoof scam was the sexploitation email that used a name and old password...

It said that it had taken over my keyboard and camera, and had filmed me ''looking at pawn''...

it said unless I paid £1k in bitcoin, the video would be forwarded to all my friends and email contacts.

I don't look at pawn, so wasn't bothered, but the police said people had paid...and been driven to a state of almost suicidal angst about it.

It seemed there was a large data breach, and that was where old passwords were stolen. It was disconcerting however, and the tone was very unpleasant.
LBC radio has adverts advising people against online crime, which has increased since lockdown...the crooks know that help centres are busy and that people may not check..

You would probably find that if you clicked to reply you would be asked to sign in, that is what they are after, as you would give away your password.
