Ebay failing to protect buyers in relation to their 30 day money back guarantee

Are members aware that Ebay are currently allowing hundreds of pre-sale listings which clearly breach their own policy to remain on the site?

I have provided Ebay with numerous examples of breaches including a pre-order listing for an item due to be released in late January 2021. Members who are ordering such items will in some cases be timed-out of the 30 day money back guarantee process. Moreover, they will not be able to return goods and feedback regarding the transaction cannot be left.

Comments are welcomed, especially from Ebay who have to date failed to remove any reported listings and nor have they responded to a formal complaint.

You won't get any comment from eBay, they gave up following the Q&A board years ago.

You're obviously aware of eBay's presale listings pokicy, but for those who may not be see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-policies/presale-policy?id=4252&st=12&pos=1&query=Presa...

If you've tried to report these listings, that's all you can do. Some categories, especially eBay motors, are overrun with rule breaking or fraudulent listings. We often hear from members who have spent entire evenings reporting them, but allegedly with no result. Does eBay care? You can decide for yuorself.

adding to the advice already given and leaving aside that the listings break eBay policy -

eBay MBG 30 days actually kicks in once the latest delivery date has passed and lasts for 30 days from then.- so a claim should be able to be opened no matter now far in the future the delivery date is.

I'm sure we all appreciate your post which highlights what some sellers are doing.

The reason they get away with it is really quite simple.

Buyers don't read listings.

Did you use the 'Report' button on those listings...? That's the way to report rule breaches. Reporting to Ebay in any other way is unlikely to get you anywhere.
