They did once strongly suggest members sign a petition to change an EU regulation to do with what a brand owner could do to restrict who sold their brand.

i doubt it, as ebay do not have specific market power, other than some power in the online platform facility market

Ebay is a multinational corporation with a 16 billion revenue last year. It needs to be taken down a peg or two by the creation of a suitable alternative.
It has been involved in political controversy and it has bent to political pressure by the US government in the past.
'How can you take eBay seriously?'

eBay are there to be used, people shop where they get what they want, at the price they want, if it's eBay fine; if not they'll go somewhere else...................if people want loyalty in this life, I suggest they buy a Dog !!

i'm not particularly impressed by it's revenue as a measure of success when one compares with other entities
i think ebay take themselves 'down a peg or two' quite adequately by themselves
and don't think the creation of a similar venture is worth the financial input, as i think ebay, by definition of what it is, is inherently flawed - alternatives already exist in all conventional forms
but i am aware of an entity who is looking into such a mechanism
i don't take ebay too seriously other than i ride the flow, but i ride many flows

It would be worth the financial input. Ebay had 3 billion net income last year.
And then, you never know, there is a long list of corporate collapses as a result of some major scandal.
