anyone using a Rate table?

How is your experience using a rate table?is it advantageous for you or just cause hassles so rather stick to your traditional mental rates or charge customers postages in accordance to how you like ? just still confused of how rate tables work ,I am just trying to set it up and so far no experience at it yet .

Hi, Join the club! Trying now for days to generate domestic & International tables with almost zero success, VERY frustrating indeed.

Hoping someone will come along with a Step by step guide or info as to how the tables should be formatted for weight bands.
