Zero hour contracts

As the latest government figures showed a drop in unemployment by 4,000, zero hour workers have sought clarification that they’re definitely not unemployed.

Despite not doing any work, or being paid any wages, zero hour contract workers have been told once again that they are a valuable part of the UK’s workforce.

Zero hour contract worker Simon Williams welcomed the reassurances, telling us, “I have a job, and that’s why I’m not in the unemployment figures.”

“I mean, it’s a job that didn’t pay me anything last week, because I’m not guaranteed any actual work. But that’s better than nothing, right?”

“Well, I suppose that technically speaking, nothing is NOT better than nothing, but you get the point.”

Unemployment falls

Government statisticians have insisted there is a big difference between people not working and not getting paid, and people with a piece of paper to say they have no work and are not getting paid.

As one senior Whitehall official explained,”People claiming job seekers allowance would love the opportunity to work zero hours for zero pay – as it removes the stigma of unemployment.”

“Getting back into the workforce routine of not doing anything and not picking up any wages is an important part of reintegrating the previously unemployed.”

“I look forward to the day when we have another two million workers not doing any work and not getting paid – our unemployment figures will look amazing.”

Zero hour contracts

I bet none of those Whitehall spokesmen would work on that basis, it goes back 100 years.

Sports direct 90% of their employees are on no hour contracts, NO benefits and they have also missed out on the Company's bonus payout.

The franchises Fast food Industry also staffed by these 'Time Slaves', Big Supermarkets , like Morrisons, which is also under the spotlight for have most of it's staff listed as 'Apprentices' , yip apprentice shelf stackers and apprentice trolley collectors, funny thats also one of things Cameron always brags about, all the Apprenticeships started, we don't seem to have the same understanding of what an Apprenticeship is.

Have you noticed all the new sandwich board Young people in our towns and Cities, they are using this to get 'Youth' unemployment figures down, they get a pittance and it's even termed Job experience. Say No and your off the Jobcentre lists of the Youth unemployed.

Workfare - a massive outcry is going on about the way it is being run in Glasgow, Workfare personnel are trawling through their records of peoples placements and 'training', then barring them from claiming benefits for tiny infractions that happened well over a year before, this is to meet 'targets' for the amount of People taken off long term unemployment figures, get banned, then when you come back, you are no longer counted as 'long-term unemployed'

If the Government put in as much effort, to create real Jobs as they do to dreaming up ways to falsely doctor the unemployment figures we might be a lot better off.

Another wheeze

Over 40000 Romanians and Bulgarians brought into the London area by employment agencies, not all, but a lot very unscrupulous , who pay them  minimum wages ( that is below agreed Industry , like construction, norms, making winning bidding easy) and then also take fees and expenses from them. Loads of these people are the ones , who are staying in garden sheds and other non standard accommodation, all across the SE.

The other 60/70k of the Romanian/Bulgarian workers are on our factory farms picking our food, also for agencies, who can undercut any British one.

How is that helping our Jobless and How many of these kind jobs are the supposed 1.4 million jobs created and trumpeted by the present government.

Edwina Currie was on the TV at weekend decrying the fact that British workers' wont do these Jobs. Well Edwina nowadays , they don't even seem to get the chance

Said this before the London area is fast turning into the New York of Europe, ran on the cheap by Illegal and Immigrant agency Labour. While it's own citizens are left to rot.
