The guy was standing, close to the red circle, near Pollokshaws -

The University ( at red Box) is approx 3.5 miles away across the River Clyde

Ben Lomond is a further 26 miles NNW of the University

That is a tragic, tragic loss. It started late on so would anyone have been in there at that time? The thing is, so many fires have started while work was going on, look at the one at Windsor Castle?
