This eBay Live thing is obnoxious. How can I hide all this video nonsense?

As per the title. My eBay homepage was chock FULL of live video auctions. Before I gouge my eyes out with a rusty potato peeler is there any way to switch these irritating assaults on sensory overload off or do I just not use the eBay homepage anymore?

I've seen a web browser plug-in has already appeared on git-hub to solve this problem but if I can just change some eBay settings that would be my preference.

No - because the homepage is not 'your' homepage - it is 'the' homepage.

while there may be elements on there if you are logged in - these can all be accessed via the 'My ebay' section.

The homepage is ebays shop window. Today - they are promoting ebay live in a big way. Next week there will be some other promotion.

But there is no way to turn it off via a preference - because its simply advertising on ebays homepage.

eBay is running an eBay Live promotion event today which is why you are seeing so much of this on your homepage at the moment.  It is only for tofay so your homepage should return to normal tomorrow.

I know eBay is a shop front but eBay live is a particularly annoying "feature". It kinda feels like when you tread in dog poo and you only realise once you've walked into the house. I guess it's just eBay joining in on the "en*bleep*tification" of the online world I suppose.

Agree. The ebay live all over the home screen is extremely annoying. Cheap and scammy. Alas there appears to be no way to set home screen preferences. Makes me less likely to use ebay for any purpose.

You can be 'factual' without being obnoxious. The two things aren't actually mutually exclusive. 

It is also 'factual' that customers and sellers can voice their opinions on things they don't like about the website, it's how a platform like this works.
