Now just what is a theory? I'd say it's something that is proposed but cannot (yet?) be proven.
A fact? = Something that can be verified (even repeated?)
So, in light of the rambling going on elsewhere (none of which is a proven fact) how about people posting their own pet theories and facts?
Mine? Well, mine revolve around space so I'll just post a couple eh?
My theory (which I cannot prove) is that some stars collide and if they're big enough form (what's now called) a Black hole from which little or nothing can escape. Then, more stars get "sucked in" and the Black hole gets bigger. As more and more stars get sucked in, the Black hole gets bigger and bigger, all the while the pressure (due to the massive gravitational effects) builds up and eventually, after billions and billions of years and countless stars falling victim to the Black hole, the heat and pressure builds up to such an extent that it causes a massive explosion, a Big Bang, then the process of star formation and destruction begins all over again and that process continues for ever.
Just one fact (for now). Two Neutron stars collide and seem to disappear, they've formed a Black hole but when that happens, a gamma ray burst is caused which shoots out in to space over vast distances.
That's a fact because we (well the astronomer types) can see that happening. From that they can theorise (you wouldn't want it proved) that if such an event were close enough and the gamma ray burst directed right at the Earth, one of two things could happen depending on the "power". Either everything on Earth would be destroyed in an instant or.... our atmosphere would be destroyed allowing the rays from the Sun to fry the Earth. Either way isn't a lot of fun for us?
Now, how about everyone else posting something (or just arguing about the above) just to instill a bit of life in to the RT?
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.

Fact:
Horses have 4 legs.
Theory:
The way some of those, I put a bet on in the past, have run...........you'd think the useless ******* only had 3.

Theory - RT's elite are perfectly normal sane peeps.
Fact - we have no way of proving it.

RT's entrance exam is not too difficult.......you've just got to be able to remember what day of the week it is.

Yes, it seems some are convinced it's nutter day? Thing is, they often prove it
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.

Why the quandary, Geo? Are you saying your God couldn't have organised the Big Bang?

I have a theory, or perhaps it's more an observation, or is a hypothesis??????
First where this comes from - addiction, such as alcohol, drugs, gambling etc. Much more is understood about what can cause some people to become addicted, but still not enough. And I believe that not enough credence or study is given to those who have 'lesser' or 'minor' addictions, such as workaholics.
This is not about OCD.
From my own family experiences I know how these addictions when unchecked or un-acknowledged allow a person's personality to change and not for the better. One thing that goes out the window is conscience, being able to genuinely think and care about others and so on.
Well, I've come to this conclusion from observing others who would apparently seem to not have any addiction - but it's still there.
It's Greed. I have been watching people; with (to use the old phrase) more money than sense, behave in ways which directly match the behaviours of those with known addictions.
They more they get, the more they become totally focussed on getting what they want at any cost and getting more of it, at the expense of socially acceptable behaviour, and possibly even actively blocking all conscience about how their actions and demands wreck the lives of others.
They lie - with remarkable ease and regularity. They cheat - but that's ok. of course, as long as they keep getting their fix.
So, whilst people might acquire wealth through inheritence, work, or luck, some will handle their wealth in a totally acceptable social way however that be meaningful for them, but others will indulge in a frenzy of addictive behaviour that only gets worse and allows their inherent need for a greed fix to drive their abysmal behaviour towards others.
It has been noted that anger can become an addiction, although I would argue that it may not have the same outcomes. And yet, I don't think happiness ever causes addiction to being in that state.
Hmmmmmmmm - that's enough for now.

I do not preclude that possibility.
Nor do I preclude the possibility of a thousand to one outsider winning the Derby and the Grand National in the same year. Or that my beloved Brentford will win the UEFA league championship in the next five seasons, or that HRH will finally award me the knighthood I so richly deserve...................In theory, to use the OP's choice of word, all are possible................But I wouldn't bet on any of them 🙂
