So, what gets up your hooter ? What makes your hackles rise, so much so that even just thinking about it, practically induces an apoplectic fit ? Could be anything, a news item, something you encounter in everyday life, drivers/driving, work/housework, public transport, politics/politician, a TV programme, teenagers, a certain commodity or product, a celebrity, mode of dress, a sport, social media sites, mobile phone users, advertising, tattoos, the weather, tin rattlers, technology, bad service, modern architecture, overuse of the word 'amazing', certain music, user manuals, call centres, a neighbour, anything at all that gets you all steamed up.
They say just letting vent on paper has a cathartic effect. Dusty Springfield, when something annoyed her, would buy a bag full of cheap crockery from Woollies, and smash it all individually up against the wall. Now I'm not advocating going to that extreme - anyway Woollies shops are no more - but unbutton your waistcoat, loosen your stays, and just put it all down in typeface on here. You'll feel much better for it. Honest.
Please Note. Be mindful of the Board rules and regulations. No foul language please.
Go...

Ok some may say this is a little tight, but going to the supermarket and the supermarket has let in some charity bag packers in,
you feel obliged to donate to their random cause. I would rather them be at the store entrance than them 2 inches from your face,
The other- yesterday i was standing next to the big issue seller who has been in the same spot every saturday for the past 3 years, with his new starwars bag, £30.00 speaking on his i phone 6. his adidas trainers looked pretty decent to.

I hope your advice is taken by all, this thread was established not as a means of generating confrontation quite the opposite, it was to get things that irritate of your chest in an amusing way and for the most part that has been the case.
It is no coincidence however that following the demise of one thread others would be targeted out of spite and personal political agendas.
Argumentum ad Hominem is a fairly common process in law whereby one person seeks to weaken anothers case by shifting the balance away from the topic and onto the credibility and motive of the individual, there are instances where this can be legitimate but here it is more likely to be a tactic to get someone to rise and then to fall into the trap of becoming personal themselves. Clever exponents especially those who have set political views and agendas use this to interupt discussion, to label people unfairly and to limit free speech. I genuinely believe that those who adopt this type of destructive debating have no place on a forum other than one occupied by likeminded individuals, Most pseudo political activists struggle to find good in any topic not of their own design and promoting their own message. That is one reason why many feel disillusioned of politics and correctness. I imagine that pressure is also applied to eBay and that takes the form of accusations you are allowing people to express racist views on what is a shopping site. That is only the case if one interprets legislation in a particular way (it is poorly written and highly ambiguous) and furthermore when we have before our eyes such tragedy on a human scale and such pathetic point scoring on a political scale who can blame people for discussing the subect.
Anyway as I said this is a rant thread not a soap box so here are a few more of mine,
Argumentum ad hominem
The colour Suffolk Pink
People who cannot find their seat on a train
Minicabs with drivers who have no local geographic knowledge

OK, here's a rant..............:-
Why oh why do threads get zapped (or the reasonable majority get warned) instead of simply dealing with the same old, same old disruptors? Anyone got an explanation?
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.

Shouldn't that be 'disruptor'.......singular?

Yes, I was trying not be too specific in case.......................

I have a possible answer to this....the mods are trying their best to have a diverse community ,so warning everyone who doesn't say anything too 'out there' is easier than warning the someone who may be, if they do then that will be direct confrontation and they will have to slap themselves.
Example...
Call IDS a Bigot and resembled him to control freak hitler ...banned for hate speach
Say everyone who doesnt like the worlds policies at the mo,is a bigot ,and electric mayhem gets a slap lol
Logic vs non confrontation + mods = RT looney bin in between bidding ,shilliers, non payers ,tea leaves snipers ,p poor customer service and mainly jolly good folk.

Wow! That's a bit OTT. I do feel that I should say something here to defend Archie. Whatever his views, on whatever subject, I have never found Archie to be rude, or offensive. I have never noticed any personal attacks, or acid,or bile. I just speak as I find. We are a fairly diverse bunch on here, with equally diverse views, but most of us manage to jog along without offending anyone.
There.....not an actual rant....but I felt that I needed to say that.

Reading that diatribe again......it reminds me of someone?📚

Soap box ? Are you ever off it ? Freedom of speech applies to all, not just yourself or those you agree with. Petsonal attacks ? One has only to wade through your incessant , transpstent attempts to ridicule and mock members of this forum past and present , including Ebay mods long gone and past
caring what you post here. I for one would not post here specifically because of your presence , I fully expect to be labelled a troll or a mixer or public enemy number one because of that , isn't that the usual way of it ? You wax lyrical about the Rt and it's shortcomings ? It's faired better for you than the mature, self regulating off ebay boards of which you were a part...until those imploded after any posters you didn't like or agree with were struck off . Offence easily taken by the PC brigade ? That's laughable considering the reasons the aforementioned were banned for.
I'm assuming other members here don't mind you standing aloft your soap box, advising everyone how to behave when underhandedly belittling other members through your puerile musical thread or popping up on someone's birthday thread to make a sly barb or two. It may go unnoticed by some but not all. Reading back through this thread may I suggest that the person most easily offended by a smattering of words was YOU, that you countered what you perceived as a personal attack with a completely over the top diatribe which personally attacked a member with whom you have a real problem with. What about their freedom of speech ? I suggest you take a look at your antics and try to tally them with the advice you so readily dish out to others. Now go on , call me a troll for remarking on your hypocrisy , take a wild stab at which one of your disgruntled ( but of course) past forum enemies I could be rather than looking at your own behaviour in this arena.
#128 'take a wild stab at which one of your disgruntled (but of course) past forum enemies I could be'. Are you trying to get him some extra leave? I doubt he will fall for that one
ENEMIES you could be? You declare that you are his enemy. WOW! He must remember that.
He has not been on here for about 3-weeks. There may be a reason beyond his control for that. (and you might even know that? 30-days perhaps?) Hopefully it's not illness. Stick around I'm sure he would answer you.
#129 'To avoid confusion....Above directed towards fallen-Archie, the latest incarnation of Hansy.' Talk about trying to kill three birds with one stone. What's someone called hansy, got to do with it?
You registered: 07-09-2015. Oh I see.

There is that old French phrase which goes sumfin like...
'The More things change, the more they stay the same.'
Which surely should be engraved on the RT tombstone.

That is extremely observant for a community newcomer, A humongous welcome to you , I reckon you are a wise and learned sage.

Oh I was here A Long long time ago.....
Amongst the first few posters on RT perhaps.Back in those long mists of time.
In these days of Facebook,Twitter,Instagram et al and more,it just looks so delighfully aintquated! Bit like Model T Ford. Could not Ebay afford to update it a bit then?
08-09-2015 7:10 PM
It said community newcomer, and look he's back, I am racking my brains to think of anyone who would still own a model T Ford? Hang on though I bet that car qualifies for zero road tax.
