When did that happen, I'm sure it was yesterday I read about him saying he would pull the team round.

Greetings from an expatriate 'Geordie' ...a big fan of Sunderland, but a bigger fan of Newcastle.
Yes, I agree, they should have afforded Di Cannio more time ...
If anyone needs the sack, it's Pardew..
Beaten by Hull, and at home....what a disgrace.

Seems a bit tough Charlie but apparently he was sacked following a bust up with some of the players
Poyet is third favourite to replace him at 6/1

Yes that's what i heard too Creeky.Hope Dematteo gets the job, there are rumours Steve Mclaren wants it,please nooooooooo.

why blame the manager? if a team cannot play then change the team.

I think the answer to that Pete is that the manager did choose the team!

Turns out he tried to single out Lee Cattermole blaming him for the third goal,BIG mistake,Catermole turned on him and got the backing if the other players.

Heard a whisper Gus Poyet could be the new man.
24-09-2013 11:12 PM
You could do a lot worse Charlie.
Granted no Premiership track record but has proved that he is a good man manager and can organise a team to play in a disciplined way as a unit.
He is a believer in possesion football, (whilst you've got the ball the opposition can't score), maybe not the most exciting football to watch but can yield points even when playing top teams.
24-09-2013 11:21 PM
I would be most pleased to have him at the helm Creeky.

Looks like Gus will be announced as Sunderland's manager tomorrow Charlie
Skybet are offering 11/1 against Sunderland finishing in the top half of the league - got to be worth a couple of quid
07-10-2013 11:21 PM
Hi,creeky happy to have him as the new boss(why did he leave Brighton under such a cloud) Would have accepted Kevin Ball as well, the players love him.Very unlucky against MU,but thats how it goes when youn are at the bottom.
07-10-2013 11:33 PM
The answer to why Gus left Brighton in the way he did is that nobody really knows - there was obviously a bust up of some kind between him and Tony Bloom the chairman.
Bloom claims that Poyet told him in March that he wanted to leave at the end of the season - there was some talk that Sunderland were considering for the manager there but were unwilling to pay the £2.5 million to buy out Poyet's contract. Poyet has denied that he said he was going to leave - you pays your money and take your choice.
It's all very much pure speculation and has generated hundreds of posts on the Seagull fan's forum the 'North Stand Chat'

Not a bad result today Charlie.
How is Gus Poyet's appointment as manager going down up there?
27-10-2013 9:02 PM
WOW!!!
Just back from the match/pub slightly drunk.
what an atmosphere in the ground, the place erupted when Borini scored the winner,I think Poyet has been accepted.
