Ok, I'll tell you what happened and you tell me if it's common place. I get a voucher from eBay for £15 ( minimum spend £30 ) to be spent in the Home & Garden section ,so have a little hunt around ( in Home & Garden category ) to see what I can get. I land on an electric screwdriver in the D.I.Y. section for £31.35, so figure with £15 off and free shipping; that's pretty good........£16.35 for the item. The seller has 3 remaining, according to the listing, so off I go and buy it. An hour later, I get a message from eBay & the seller; saying I have been refunded the full price, because ( due to an error ) the seller has none left in stock. I pay for all my stuff by direct bank transfer, so have nothing in my PayPal account. However, the refund goes into my PayPal account and not back into my Bank ( where it came from ) and as for the voucher portion of the payment, god knows where that goes. I look up the sellers feedback, particularly the 8 Negs, to see he's done this before; with 3 people saying they got their items direct from Amazon and therefor accusing Him of being a "Drop Seller". I take it this is acceptable behaviour with eBay and they do nothing about it ? and as for their Voucher..........I'm sorry I bothered at all.

Oh yes. I consign all ebay advice, and offers straight to the Trash bin.

I have never had an offer from ebay, on either this or my main account which is even older

I have the occasional voucher but have never bothered with them.

People are always reporting things such as finding it didn't work and they have to pay full price or the same problem you had.

Oh well, I'll get my money back one way or another.........eventually and as for the voucher; even if it's floating around in Cyber Space.........no loss. Dopey idea anyway, buying something I didn't REALLY need, just to use the voucher, I won't be doing that again.Smiley Happy

PP always refund to your PP account if the purchase was funded from your bank account.  That is standard.

Re the voucher, did you note the expiry date?  If it would still be valid now, you might be able to get eBay to reinstate it.  If it would have expired by now, there's probably not much you can do.

On the bright side, you've saved any outlay on an item you might not have purchased unless tempted by the discount. hmmmmm

I have had a few vouchers in the past, As far as I can remember they have all worked.

I think I have had an item needing to be refunded too, don't ever remember not getting my monies back in full.

Presumably most of them do work, it's Ebay's shrug off attitude when they don't that's the problem.
