Not surprised given that Steve Boring Davis (Snooker) won it in 1988.

I don't think the word 'personality' is meant to have any association with charisma, being interesting, or having a great personality in the context of this award!

Perhaps they should just call it the Sports Person of the Year award.

All that we are is what we have thought.

I've seen cod fish on display in Morrisons, with more charm, presence, character, and magnetism.

Could have something to do with living in a stone Cottage, next to a Loch, with Sheep for company...........during your formative years...............not stereotyping at all that is it !! Smiley Very Happy

I'm a real Tennis buff, played it all my life and am also a Murray fan; but hey ho......the Guy obviously doesn't find life too funny. He is, after all, proficient at what he does and that isn't as being a " Celebrity ".Smiley Happy

I posted something similar on Facebook last night and got run out of town by the Andy Murray Fan Club LOL

But I did find something out that I wasn't previously aware of.

Apparantly Andy and his brother were present in the school on the day of the Dunblane massacre. He was 8 and his brother was 10. They were in a different classroom thankfully but they could hear the shots being fired.

I'm sure that must have had some kind of effect on him. They knew the guy that did it as well. Judy Murray used to give him lifts to a club they all belonged to.

If the award was about sporting achievements, which I think it should be, I don't think it could have gone to a better contender.  Andy has had a spectacular year.

100% - it's the BBC who have got it wrong by labelling the show as a personality contest.

Probably trying too hard again to be PC, they only had to leave off the......ality. Could have been a typo though, made by some overpaid BBC Exec. couldn't change it then could they, that would be too much like admitting to making a mistake.Smiley Happy
