Could anyone help me identify this item please?
I just wouldn't know where to begin with google, so I thought post a few pics on here may point me in the right direction.
It is a strange one to me, I have never seen anything like it before.
It is mad of plastic, about 1/2" thick, curved, has the word Ortho stamped on the side. One end looks like it is smiling lol, and the other rounded and flattened slightly. As you can see in the pictures it has an extra piece coming out of it (which I would say is coming out of the top - standing it up so as to read the word on the side the right way up) the xtra piece looks as though it maybe a hook as it has a groove in it on it;s thicker end. (Hope that makes sense) I am leaning toward crochet hook but never seen one like it before.
I found it in one of my Mum's old handbags, lol.
Can anyone help please.

A tool of some sort. Maybe teeth related. Looks like maybe floss gets looped through it.

Yes, I though it might be dental related. I googled 'ortho' and there is a company called ortho store which sell a variety of 'dental aids'

It looks like a 'quick turn tool'...used for twisting oral braces on and off.google it on images...lots of them there, looks very similar

So far I have googled something from every reply and not come up with anything 😞
The quick turn tool I didn't come up with anything remotely like it, I am stumped.
The tool itself is about 7 - 8 inches long, appears to be fairly strong and it doesn't bend.

No, nothing saasher.
I added that I found it in a handbag thinking it could give one. That is all I can offer. Ortho made me think of shoes.

It looks like the tip is made to guide something and the thing in the middle guides it to the side.
Like maybe a tube a nurse would use, or for a medical issue.
Or for knitting, to guide the wool...or whatever knitters use. 🙂
I searched all those things and found nothing. Although it's possible they improved the design and it looks totally different now.

Still baffled, found nothing.
Petal... I don't think orange peeler I have one of those and this thing is nothing like it. Not sharp or pointy enough. I am still thinking shoe or knitting......

I think it's dental ORTHodontal) as opposed to ORTHOpedic, but I really don't know what it is, just a hunch.
Why not pop in to Boots and ask them, or better still your local dentist?
